Spec Kit is GitHub's open-source toolkit for Spec-Driven Development. Its Specify CLL bootstraps a project with SDD scaffolding and installs slash commands (Spec -> Plan -> Tasks -> Implement) for the chosen agent, each phase producing a Markdown artifact feeding the next. It works with 30+ AI coding agents including Claude Code, adding a structured command set and templates rather than ad-hoc prompts.
